I’m a little late with my mix for the third episode of El Tintero. I’ve been digesting a lot of music lately and had a tough time deciding which direction to go. Very happy with the result; I think it’s worth the wait (I know you’ve all been waiting).
This mix begins with a lovely deep hypnotic tune by Pezzner then quickly builds through a couple of big tribal tracks into some pumping tech house. After reaching a peak it drops down through a few retro-sounding deep techno tracks that remind me of the early 90’s (the pads in “Tuesday Paranoia” and “Rond” are gorgeous) and eases into a landing with a couple of funky house jams; closing with a really sweet MyMy remix that sounds like a deeper version of “Knights of the Jaguar.”
Here’s wishing you all a fist pumping, booty swinging Valen-slime’s day. Lots of love to my lady Addy.

digging the track at -31:24, overall bing bang we’re off and then I’m finding myself at a native american tribal gathering where it’s rather dark, a real techno affair oh wait something just changed at -24:10, some sweet pads, I’m not a minimal fan unless it’s got vibe and this one just started vibing..now at -16:31 REALLY like this one (shannon send me this track) now we’re talkin! some house goodness at -11:20 much more my style and continuing on in to the magic -8:08 time, a funky almost carribbean guitar lends itself to the diversity found here, then we’re deeply underwater off the coast of lebanon perhaps.. finishing with a touch of creative classical-ness
Great mix…has a little of everything. Like Dale mentioned; there are some I really like and some, not so much but unlike him I did not pay attention to the time to give you details…
Thank the Gods for you and others that have kept “electronica” alive.
I made a small mistake with the markup in that, if you downloaded the mix using the link ‘Download the mp3’ before Sunday morning, 2/15/09 10am PST, you got Episode 2 (by Markus Mehta). This has been corrected. The flash player has always played the right file. Just found the reason why iTunes wasn’t showing the new episode; this has also been fixed so if you subscribe via iTunes the new episode should be downloading shortly.
Thank you Shannon… I’ve been jonsin’ for the next installment. Although the “We made brownies and I think we’re dead, I really do” line never gets old.
Aw Shit ! AWESOME mix !
